....Hello August and GoFest

Wow! What a crazy couple of days it has been. Just back from London after GoFest weekend, and can strongly recommend if you ever get a chance (and for those who did - hope you enjoyed as much as we did!).

Apart from the truly insane event at Brockwell Park, with 10,000 people per ticket session and continued access to all GoFest spawns across the citywide weekend - it really is an opportunity to meet/make new friends (even just briefly) with people from all over the world and share in the fun and laughter.

And they came out in their thousands, all over London - with colourful t-shirts, Eevee caps (complete with ears), bags, Magikarp or Goomy hats, and even a full suit covered all over in Pokémon. And yes, Saturday was WET, but it didn't stop the fun! And the sun did breakout eventually.

Especially loved a young couple from Denmark we met in Covent Garden with cardboard signage strapped to their backpacks with checklists of what they wanted and what they had to trade - Genius! And they had managed to bag quite a few, so it obviously worked.

And a special huge mention goes out to the (and can't express this next word highly enough) "Legend" of a Pokemon Trainer Huw a.k.a. FIRETEAMALPHA - all the way from Baltimore, Maryland USA, whose company and 4 Pokédex accounts left us totally gobsmacked!!!

Back in the South West, thoughts now turn to sharing equal fun, games and good times with our group during Global GoFest (weekend 26th/27th August). With many focused on finding new shiny releases, completing PokeDex with previously missing entries, or gaining access to the beast that is Mega Rayquaza!

But I'm getting ahead of ourselves here! August has barely begun, and we have lots to look forward to before this......

13th August sees Froakie receive his long-overdue Community Day - with Shiny Greninja now within touching distance.

Tuesday Spotlight hours (6pm starting outside Austin's department store) feature a nice mix of candidates, as does Raid hours, with the return of Cressilia, Xerneas and Yveltal....oh! and not forgetting Primal Kyogre and Groudon back!!!

Whatever "floats your boat" and however much you can/can't play during August (summer sun or heavy rain!), it looks like there'll always be something on offer - so enjoy!

As a closing reminder. This Sunday (13th) is Froakie Community Day, and if you're around - you might find a GOLDEN LURE (or two) activated at Coffee Couture around 1:30pm before the event starts at 2pm.

Keep catching 'em all!

See you soon.
